Thank you for your excellent customer care. Most helpful! The more I play the Forte3D, the more I love it. My wife is also a cellist and she fell in love with it immediately, so you might have another order from us very soon! We both have more expensive wood cellos, but the rich mellow tone of your instrument is really remarkable, especially since the fault of the other carbon fiber cellos being sold is that they sound too harsh. I think you've done something very special in creating an instrument with this excellent sound quality at an affordable price. For me, bowing nearer to the bridge with a bit more tension on the bow hairs produced remarkable results. It's easier to produce richly colored chocolately cello tone with this cello than any other cello I've played until you get to the $40,000 range. Thank you for making this instrument!

Cello arrived today and wow! It exceeded my expectations out of the box! Cello has resonance and is light and easy to play. I honestly did not expect to be able to get tonal colors - eg Elegy - but I did. It does not require a mic for ff playing. It speaks across the strings. Lower registers are smooth. Upper harmonics ring. I was expecting the cello to sound “covered” but it absolutely does not. This cello will be a God send for me to be able to get outside and play!!! Thank you more than words for making this incredible cello!!!

I'm a VERY new cello player and my husband bought this for me about a year and half ago. I can't say enough good things about this cello. The tutorial to set it up is EXTREMELY detailed and easy to follow. The geared tuning pegs make it incredibly easy for a newbie like me to tune (AND STAY IN TUNE)! The carbon fiber is *bump-proof* and I don't have to worry if I have to leave it in my car for a little while (temperature/humidity changes are basically a non-issue). All this and the sound is AMAZING! I really can't believe I have such an awesome cello!

After much consideration, I took a leap and purchased the Forte3D cello, seeking an upgrade in sound from my antique cello. I was also looking for something that had less risk associated with taking the instrument outside. Without the option to try one locally, I was unsure, but it turned out to be one of the best decisions I've ever made! This cello produces an astonishingly big and captivating sound - warm, nuanced, and with impressive low-frequency power. It can project all frequencies spectacularly well, making it a delight to play. Additionally, the support I receive from Alfred about instrument related questions and on my journey to become a more professional player adds to the overall wonderful experience. Cello exceeded my expectations out of the box! Easy to tune and fine tuners are a plus. Resonant. No need to mic to get a ff. I was not expecting to get tonal colors - eg Elegy- but I did! Harmonics ring. Lower registers are smooth. Upper registers are not brassy. I was expecting the cello to sound “covered”. It absolutely does not. Other cellists response - “wow! Wasn’t expecting that”! My family also gave it compliments - edgy, cool, beautiful. The cello is very light. I think the finish is edgy and ‘bump proof’. It will be fantastic to not have to be concerned about humidity and temp changes. This cello and its price point can not be beat. Thank you Fiddlershop and Alfred Goodrich!!!

Sounds beautiful, easy to tune and play. My only disappointment was upon arrival there was rosin on the strings. Also not very fond of the imperfections on the body, mostly at the base, looks like a 'seam' so to speak. It makes it feel lower quality than it actually is. Despite those flaws, I love it. Can't say enough how much I love the sound of it. Worth the money, for sure.

Perfect for students. Fiddlershop delivered this cello well packed and set up. I purchased a 4/4 model for my 6th-grade daughter after previously renting a wooden instrument. Compared to many student-grade wooden instruments, it has a deep and mellifluous voice that is very well balanced. The unconventional texture of the 3-D printed material is not an impediment to her playing, and the instrument’s physical robustness gives me peace of mind. I believe it will provide her many years of enjoyment. Even if her advancing skills someday exceed the dynamic range of this cello, I think it would make an excellent backup for outdoor venues.

I purchased this as an upgrade to a wood student cello which I have had for 4 1/2 years. Over that time my playing has improved, to the point where I thought I really needed an instrument which could give me more. Unfortunately, to realize a "significant" improvement over what I had in a new wood cello would have resulted in spending a lot more than I was capable of justifying. Then... the Forte 3D popped up, and I was intrigued by the novel design and manufacturing process. There is still very limited information and few reviews on-line. The description provided by the Fiddlershop video, particularly the assurance that this carbon fiber cello does not possess the bright and harsh sound which, in the past, has plagued composite instruments, was encouraging. You should watch the video, and believe what is said! However, do NOT judge by the SOUND of the cello which you hear in the Fiddlershop video. The audio of the cello is not representative of what it truly sounds like... it, in fact, sounds MUCH BETTER than that. (Hopefully they can do a better recording!) For a better idea of what it really sounds like, go directly to the Forte 3D web site and listen to the video clips there. Those are accurate... it really does sound that big and that resonant! The only thing I can compare it to is a $60k cello which a friend of mine has, on loan to use. I have always envied her rich, ringing tone. The Forte gets me into that ballpark. The incredible design innovation of giving it an adjustable neck is simply genius. I have adjusted it so that the playing action is very much like a guitar... with no buzzing, rattling, or other undesired noises, a testimony to great design and precision engineering and manufacturing! The Wittner tuning pegs make tuning a breeze. This instrument is brilliant, and sounds and plays WAY ABOVE its very modest price. At the time I am writing this, Fiddlershop has it on the Beginner, Intermediate, and Professional cello product pages! This is absolutely justified, it can operate on all these levels. This is a treasure, get it before the price goes up! You will be grinning from ear to ear for a long time once you play it!

Unbelievable sound and so easy for a beginner student, like me, to deal with (tuning etc) but my teacher was so impressed he spent my entire first lesson playing it himself and going off about the sound and the design.
